Prior to RetireeFirst, Rick held various leadership positions at UnitedHealth Group, including the roles of Market President, Chief Growth Officer, and Chief Sales Officer at OptumRx, one of the largest and fastest-growing Pharmacy Benefit Managers with a significant Medicare client base. He also served in growth leadership roles at Health Net, ConnectiCare, and The Travelers, and he was a founding principal of eAdvocate, a venture capital backed e-health company.

John D. Bass, CEBS is a Vice President and Senior Consultant with McGriff. John is an industry expert on employee benefit health strategy, network design, and managed care applications. He has over 35 years of experience in the health and benefit industry serving a wide range of clients and industries, including public and educational entities. John earned his bachelor’s degree in economics from Austin College and his Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) designation from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Theresa began her career with RetireeFirst as part of the Account Management team. Over the past decade, she has helped build out RetireeFirst’s industry-leading advocacy service model and in-house team of retiree Advocates who handle calls on behalf of all retiree members to resolve issues related to healthcare benefits and to promote retiree wellness programs. She has led recruitment, training, and development of this growing team.
