Dear City of Fall River Medicare Eligible Retiree and/or Spouse,
We are pleased to inform you that there will be some changes to the Prescription Drug Coverage included with your City of Fall River Medex Plan effective January 1st, 2019. These changes were made to enhance your insurance benefits. The City of Fall River has partnered with Retiree First, a firm that specializes in municipal retiree health and drug programs, to help you with this change.
Your prescription drug benefits will change from Blue MedicareRx (PDP with CVS Caremark) to Humana Group Medicare PDP effective January 1st, 2019. Your monthly Medex premium will decrease from $90.00 to $87.50.
Important things to know:
• You will be receiving a letter terminating your current PDP Prescription Program at a later date.
• The Humana Group Medicare PDP Pharmacy Network contains over 66,000 in–network pharmacies nationwide, you should continue to be able to use almost any retail pharmacy, including your local pharmacies. You do not need new scripts, simply show the pharmacy your new Humana Group Medicare PDP RX Card.
• Humana offers the same convenient Mail Order program you are already familiar with, you will need new prescriptions.
• You will need new prescriptions for any medication you order through Mail Order.
• Members can continue to participate in the free Fall River Meds/CanaRx program.
• The plan structure will remain the same but please note, the cost of drug copays can vary year to year based on inflation, contracts, supply, etc. Please call Retiree First at 1.508.300.9697 (TTY 711) or 1.855.835.5847 (TTY 711) if you have any questions.
As per CMS guidelines you can only be enrolled in one prescription Part D drug plan. If you plan to enroll in a prescription drug plan outside the City of Fall River please call 1.508.300.9697 (TTY 711) or 1.855.835.5847 (TTY 711) to discuss with a dedicated City of Fall River Retiree Advocate. Please note that your complete retiree health plan will consist of a combination of BCBS Medex II health coverage and Humana prescription drug coverage. Should you opt out of the prescription Part D plan, you may lose the option to maintain your health coverage through the City of Fall River.
